Community Cars is a Social Car Scheme that solves the transport problems for less able people in Dacorum. The team of volunteers use their own cars in their free time to drive passengers to destinations such as Hospitals, Doctors etc. Drivers decide on when and how much they are prepared to volunteer i.e. the frequency, what days, time and distance of jobs. Petrol expenses are reimbursed.

Our team of volunteers use their own cars in their free time to drive passengers to destinations such as Hospitals, Doctors etc. Journeys may be short or longer distance to other locations in the UK i.e. London. Some light lifting may be involved ie lifting a wheelchair Volunteers are expected to support the client in transporting them to their appointment/destination and remain with the client if the appointment is for 1 hour or less. More than an hour the volunteer will do a 2 way return journey. Drivers decide on when and how much they are prepared to volunteer i.e. the frequency, what days, time and distance of jobs. No extra car insurance is needed and your standard social and domestic use policy is all that’s required.

Volunteers drive their own cars to provide transport for local residents. Journeys may be short or longer distance to other locations in the UK i.e. London. Full UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years. Proof of correct insurance and a valid MOT Some light lifting may be involved Volunteers are expected to support the client in transporting them to their appointment/destination and remain with the client if the appointment is for 1 hour or less. More than an hour the volunteer will do a 2 way return journey.
