Minibus drivers to help local groups access a day centre, meeting place or for an excursion out. It is a very rewarding activity and if you enjoy driving and meeting people then this volunteering opportunity is for you. Plus it is very flexible and can work around you and your other commitments. You don't have to commit to a set day and frequency.
Help us to help local groups with their transport needs. We hire our minibuses to groups and organisations such as elderly or disabled groups as well as youth and sport clubs to take members to a day centre or meeting place or for an excursion. Without the support of low cost transport many groups would not be able to operate and help the isolated and lonely. You will be provided with training and support. It is a very rewarding activity and if you enjoy driving and meeting people then this volunteering opportunity is for you. The lower age limit for drivers is 21 years of age and induction and training is given. Minibus drivers need a D1, and are assessed for H.C.C. minibus certification.

You don’t have to commit to a set day or time you can choose what day of the week, how long and how frequently. We don’t mind you saying no to a job, because we value the times that you do say yes! • No extra insurance is required and you are covered by our public liability insurance and no claims bonus cover • You receive reimbursement for your mileage expenses at £0.45 per mile • You receive an assessment free of charge from a trained Train the Trainer Herts County Council Assessor providing you with a minibus permit valid for 5 years • Minibus drivers can join in with the group hire activities free of charge
