Volunteer

The Friends of Halsey Field

We need volunteers to help us manage a beautiful nature reserve in Gadebridge

Detailed Description

The site is full of wildflowers, including 3 different species of orchid and many flowering and berry bearing bushes, from early spring through to late autumn, and we need volunteers to help us manage the site. This involves mowing and raking some of the grassy areas throughout the autumn and winter months, to encourage more wildflowers to grow next spring, keeping the paths clear of vegetation, pruning and cutting down some of the bushes, to ensure fresh growth when they grow again. We work from 10am till 1pm with a coffee break with home made cakes at 11.30am.
