We're looking for volunteers to help plan and lead activities in West Hertfordshire.
Our groups offer vital friendship and support, and as a Lead Volunteer, you'll be part of a collaborative team of volunteers, making shared decisions to ensure activities are safe and inclusive. You’ll be responding to the unique needs of people living with Parkinson's, right where you are. Join a friendly team, make a big impact and build community as a Lead Volunteer. You’ll be supported every step of the way by your fellow volunteers, a named Parkinson’s UK Staff Contact and essential training, so you won’t be alone.

As a Group Lead Volunteer, the ability to work effectively alongside a team of fellow volunteers is essential. In addition to this, great interpersonal skills and a warm caring manner will help you to become a trusted representative of your group and support with activities and events.
Volunteering for Parkinson's UK you will feel part of a community of over 300 volunteers in the East of England, and 4000 nationally, working to make lives better for people with Parkinson's. Delivering services for people with Parkinson's, you'll feel immense satisfaction and visibly make a difference every time you volunteer. You will receive full training and induction and will be supported by Parkinson's UK staff. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own skills, or make use skills gained throughout your career.
This role is flexible to fit around your life and the needs of the group. You'll work alongside fellow volunteers to make sure activities and events are covered. You will also attend planning meetings, however, these are no more than once per month, and often less than this. We estimate that you will spend on average 2 hours per week volunteering in this role.

We particularly welcome applications from people living in the West Hertfordshire area (St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Watford, and the surrounding towns and villages) who can easily travel to the Group's main monthly meetings in St Albans.
