We're looking for a Group Coordinator to lead the West Hertfordshire Parkinson's Support Group.
Create a safe space for your Parkinson’s community. Our groups offer vital friendship and support and, as a Group Coordinator, you'll lead a collaborative team of volunteers, making shared decisions to ensure activities are safe and inclusive. You’ll be responding to the unique needs of people living with Parkinson's, right where you are. Lead a friendly team, make a big impact and build a community as a Lead Volunteer. You’ll be supported every step of the way by your fellow volunteers, a named Parkinson’s UK Staff Contact and essential training, so you won’t be alone.

As the Group Coordinator, you'll be leading a supportive team of volunteers to manage as well as plan new activities for people with Parkinson's in your local area. Therefore excellent people and organisational skills are required for this role.
Volunteering for Parkinson's UK you will feel part of a community of over 300 volunteers in the East of England, and 4000 nationally, working to make lives better for people with Parkinson's. Delivering services for people with Parkinson's, you'll feel immense satisfaction and visibly make a difference every time you volunteer. You will receive full training and induction and will be supported by Parkinson's UK staff. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own skills, or make use skills gained throughout your career.
Our volunteering roles are flexible; fitting around your life and the needs of the group. As well as regular planning meetings (which take place no more than once per month), you will work alongside your fellow volunteers to make sure group activities are covered.

We particularly welcome applications from people living in the West Hertfordshire area (St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Watford, and the surrounding towns and villages) who can easily travel to the Group's main monthly meetings in St Albans.
