Parkinson's Cafe Coordinator - Hemel Hempstead
Parkinson's UK
Volunteer needed to coordinate a new relaxed cafe for People with Parkinson's in Hemel Hempstead
People tell us that meeting others living with Parkinson's is the most important support they want locally. With your help, we can provide this in a relaxed, informal way at the Hemel Hempstead Parkinson's cafe. On evenings or weekends, in cafes or pubs, as a cafe coordinator you'll meet new people, bringing them together to share experiences and support one another - you included. From picking a venue to spreading the word, you'll be supported by Parkinson's UK staff, while developing valuable organisational and communication skills.

First and foremost we are looking for volunteers with excellent people skills and communication who can provide people with Parkinson's with a relaxed environment in which to meet others affected by the condition. You do not need to be an expert in Parkinson's as you will be supported by Parkinson's UK staff.
Volunteering for Parkinson's UK you will feel part of a community of over 300 volunteers in the East of England, and 4000 nationally, working to make lives better for people with Parkinson's. Delivering services for people with Parkinson's, you'll feel immense satisfaction and visibly make a difference every time you volunteer. You will receive full training and induction and will be supported by Parkinson's UK staff. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own skills, or make use skills gained throughout your career.
The Parkinson's Cafe will be held monthly for no more than two hours. On occasion there will be extra time comittments, for example completing volunteer training upon being offered the role. As this is a new Parkinson's cafe which we will launch with your support, there is no set time at the moment, and the cafe can be organised to fit around your schedule.
