Join our Trustees and help to oversee the administration of our social organisation and charity
We are a membership organisation for people who are no longer in full time employment. We run over 75 hobby and interest group in the local area. We are looking for an individual to join our Trustees and take on the role of Secretary. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring that Committee meetings and the AGM are run in accordance with our constitution and Charity Commission requirements. The role would suit someone with good organisational skills who is confident working online and with email. The committee are a friendly group of people willling to welcome and support you learn the role.

Any candidate for this role must be eligible to be a charity trustee and also able to become a member of u3a Dacorum which is open to anyone no longer in full time employment. They will find that this is a thriving organisation which will offer opportunities for getting involved in a range of social activities and making new friends.
Our committee meets for two hours every month and the Secretary works with the Chair to prepare and circulate the papers before the meeting and ensure all decisions taken are recorded in the minutes. Other duties would include dealing with correspondence and preparing for and overseeing the AGM and completing our annual return to the Charity Commission. All these duties would take up to 8 to 10 hours per month plus some extra hours in the run up to the AGM.

Committee meetings take place at the Box Moor Trust Centre, London Road, Hemel HP1 2RE. u3a Monthly speaker meetings take place at Boxmoor Playhouse, St John's Road, Hemel, HP1 1NP and Northchurch Social Centre, Bell Lane, Berkhamsted HP4 3RD. Also, optional meetings in a range of halls in the area
