Volunteer to help with the assessment of our care facilities

Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

Do you want to use your lived experience to shape real improvements in patient care?

Detailed Description

The Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) is a national initiative that looks at how well care settings support patients’ dignity, comfort, and independence. This year, we’re taking part in PLACE Lite, with a special focus on listening to—and learning from—the disability community. Your insight will help us understand how our care environment supports people with disabilities and where we can make meaningful improvements. Your voice really will make a difference. We just need you for 1 day in March - date to be mutually agreed. You'll probably be with us for about 5 hours

We’d especially like to hear from you if you: • Have a disability or lived experience of accessibility challenges • Have experience as a service user (patient, carer, family member) — but it’s not essential • Care about improving the experience of others • Feel comfortable expressing your views and engaging in group discussions

What is in it for you

⭐ Make a Real Impact Your lived experience helps shape a more accessible, compassionate care environment—your feedback directly informs improvements that benefit future patients and families. ⭐ Build Confidence & Skills From teamwork to communication to observing care environments, you’ll strengthen valuable skills in a supportive, respectful setting. ⭐ Be Heard & Valued Your perspective matters deeply to us. You’ll be part of a team that listens, learns, and genuinely values your contributions. ⭐ Flexible, One-Off Commitment Just one assessment day, supported by a short online training video—perfect for fitting around your life. ⭐ Feel Good & Give Back Know that your time is helping create a more inclusive, dignified experience for people facing life-limiting illness. ⭐ Practical Support We cover reasonable expenses, and our supportive volunteer team is here to help every step of the way.
