Nordic walking volunteers support our patients to get involved with this gentle exercise

Detailed Description

Purpose of this role The rehabilitation team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehab Assistants and other Volunteers. Nordic walking is a face-to-face 6-week programme for participants who are being inactive to active in a gentle way. It is run by a qualified Nordic walking instructor, and you will be supporting participants who are referred into this one-off program, once a week on Thursdays commencing on the 11th of September. We're looking for people who are interested in walking and are enthusiastic to help our patients get the most out of the opportunity.

What are we looking for? - Age 18+ - Interest in walking/hiking - Fit and well to engage in physical activity - Enthusiastic - Motivational - Confidence in supporting participants without clinician's presence - Empathetic and responsive - Proactive with participants and feedback

2 to 3 hours on a Thursday afternoon for a 6-week course.
